Aislinn Adams
Aislinn has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for 30 years. She combines her love of the outdoors with her art and design, and has a special interest in gardening with native plants. Catherine Alexander

Elise Bush

Elise enjoys painting watercolor studies of Pacific Northwest native plants. Her pen & ink illustrations have been published in botanical journals such as the Annals of the Missouri Botanical Garden. In 2016, her Pinus lambertiana, Sugar Pine cone, represented Crater Lake National Park at the "Flora of the National Parks" exhibit at the U.S. Botanic Garden in Washington, DC.

Alice Debo Fredericy

Alice grew up in a suburb of Cleveland, Ohio. Alice’s mother was a teacher, and father a leader in the National Park Service. Her upbringing resulted in a deep respect for nature and equipped her with astute observational skills. After acquiring a degree in industrial design at the University of Cincinnati, Alice moved west to California, where she worked as a designer and lead creative workshops worldwide. Today Alice resides here in Portland, Oregon. She is an avid outdoorswoman, freelance designer, and is a member and chair for the Oregon Botanical Artists.

​Jeanne Debons

​Jeanne earned a PhD from the Department of Botany and Plant Pathology at Oregon State University in 1986, and subsequently has studied botanical painting on her own and at the English Gardening School receiving a diploma as a Botanical Illustrator in 2005.

Dorota Haber-Lehigh

Dorota's art and teaching explore ephemeral beauty of nature, magic of native plants and human connection with plants. Born in Poland, Dorota loves foraging for berries, mushroom hunting, field sketching, and collecting specimens. Dorota holds a Diploma in Botanical Illustration from the Society of Botanical Artists in London. She also has degrees in Art and International Studies with a focus on indigenous cultures, and a master’s degree in teaching.  She authored two ethnobotanical coloring books. Marilyn Lindberg

Marilyn has been engaged in the world of art from a young age. She has primarily been a painter using watercolor and acrylic to express her love of the natural world. In recent years she has been developing skills in botanical illustration in colored pencil. She has been studying with Janet Parker, another OBA member, at Oregon Society of Artists. Currently Marilyn is taking the Distant Learning diploma program administered by the Society of Botanical Artists in the UK. Using her 1.25 acre garden for subject matter has resulted in a deepening relationship with the plant kingdom. She continues to be inspired by the intricate methods, structures, and designs plants use to thrive.

Antoinette Luchessa

Pacific Coast native, Antoinette has lived the majority of her life in the Pacific Northwest.  A perennial student, her current focus is botanical art and illustration and she is a student at Gage Academy of Art in Seattle.  Her previous education includes a BA in Art as well as a Certificate in Botanical Illustration from the Royal Botanic Gardens Edinburgh.  Her current focus is on native plants of the Pacific Northwest with an emphasis in 3-D paper botanical renderings, watercolor, and pen and ink illustrations.  She lives with her family and a spirited cat in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by native plants in their garden.  You can view more art at

Mary McCarty

Mary has worked in watercolor and other mediums, but botanical graphite drawing is her favorite method of exploring the beauty of plants. To see and understand a leaf, stem or flower has given her a greater appreciation of the natural environment. Janet has worked as an editorial art director and graphic designer for 24 years. She started studying botanical art at the NY Botanical Garden in 2004 and earned the certificate in that program in June 2015. Carol Putnam​

​​​Carol grew to love nature and color while growing up surrounded by the wildflowers and brilliant autumn foliage of New England. Her desire to paint was inspired by her admiration for classic botanical illustrations. She enjoys the challenge of capturing detail, light and shadow in vivid watercolor.

​Nora Sherwood

Nora graduated from the University of Washington’s Natural Science Illustration certificate program in Spring 2014, where she was voted the “most improved illustrator” by her classmates. She is working on pieces inspired by the Siletz Bay National Wildlife Refuge, just a few miles south from where she currently lives in Lincoln City, OR, and also gathering inspiration from the Connie Hansen Garden. She is the incoming president of the Oregon Chapter of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, and is a member of the GIS Certification Institute. Zebith  Thalden

​Zebith Thalden’s work celebrates the intricate beauty of insects in addition to the splendor of botanicals. She combines hand-drawn environments for her life-like 3D sculptures, a process she developed during her 2015 Artist Residency at Zion National Park. She exhibits her work nationally and also teaches nature illustration, leads Eco-tours, and is currently writing her first book. Margaret Trent

Margaret Trent rekindled her high school interest in botanical art by attending classes and joining the ASBA in 2008. She is also a member of the PNBA, GNSI-NW and CPSA. Margaret regularly exhibits with these groups in Seattle and has regular small solo exhibits at Plum on Bainbridge Island where she lives. Colored pencil is a favorite medium and she particular enjoys adding birds to her artwork. She is also a member of the SSBA, a wee connection with her roots. For more about Margaret visit

Janene Walkky

After several years as garden designer, Janene had the opportunity to fulfill a long-held dream of studying botanical art and enrolled in the Society of Botanical Artists Distance Learning Course, which is based in Great Britain. She graduated from the intensive 27-month course with distinction in April of 2013.
