Upcoming meetings:
Our monthly meetings are mainly for drawing and painting together, providing support and feedback on our works-in-progress, and catching up with each other. Members and their invited guests are welcome. Anyone wishing to share botanical art-related information, techniques, products, or to make a presentation to the group is encouraged to do so. We enjoy learning from each other and being inspired by one another's artistic practice. Artists of all skill levels are welcome. We don't have a lot of rules in our meetings, but we do follow these simple guidelines: be respectful, share the stage, and be open to the ideas and opinions of others. All members are encouraged to use the email list to invite each other along on hikes, garden visits, drawing excursions and more.
We typically meet once a month - on the first Wednesday morning of each month, from 9:30 am until 12:30 pm - at a member's house or via Zoom from 10:00 am until Noon.
Also, remember to bring your own tools for drawing and painting. At a minimum, it's always good to have these items with you:
• sketchbook
• pencils, sharpener and erasers
• travel watercolor palette
• camp stool (in case we wander)
• hat, sunglasses, sunscreen or other weather-appropriate gear
• and paints, brushes, pens, water holders, water, camera, and any other tools you might want to work with
• your subject (bring your own, or if you come empty handed, members' gardens provide a wealth of subject matter)
